Lynedoch is the first station after Eerste River on the single track "Stellenbosch" loop, running from Eerste River junction back to the main line at Muldersvlei. This section is one of the last examples of single-track running in South Africa, featuring tokens working using Van Schoor tablet machines. Token working only exists on the section to the next station on the loop, Vlottenburg, with track circuits working back to Eerste River This pictures shows the box at this station, including a lever frame of 16 levers.

Here are two examples of dwarf signals, controlling shunting movements in the up (Cape Town) direction. The down home signal bracket can also be seen on the left.
